Service Provided "As Is"
OnBackend is provided as a convenience tool for capturing form submissions from static websites. While we strive for reliability, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, 100% delivery of email notifications, or zero data loss. You should not rely on OnBackend as your sole method of capturing critical or irreplaceable data.
Not a Compliance Solution
OnBackend is not designed or certified for compliance with specific regulations such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or SOC 2. Do not use the Service to collect sensitive personal information such as financial data, health records, Social Security numbers, or payment card details unless you have independently verified that doing so complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
Your Responsibility as Data Controller
You are the data controller for any information collected through forms using your API keys. You are solely responsible for ensuring your data collection practices comply with applicable privacy laws, including providing appropriate privacy notices to your form visitors and handling data subject requests.
Email Delivery
Email notifications are sent through a third-party email provider (SendGrid). We cannot guarantee that notification emails will always be delivered, will not be filtered as spam, or will arrive in a timely manner. Check your dashboard regularly for submission data rather than relying solely on email notifications.
Data Retention
Form submission data is retained for 90 days. After this period, data may be automatically deleted without additional notice. Export your data regularly if you need to retain it beyond this period.
API Key Security
Your API key is displayed once at creation time and stored only as a hash. We cannot recover lost API keys — you will need to regenerate a new one. Keep your API key secure. While API keys are embedded in HTML forms (and thus visible in page source), they are scoped to your form and rate-limited to prevent abuse.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OnBackend and its operators shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of or reliance on the Service, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, lost data, or missed business opportunities.
